Title: "New Territories" Part 1C

Jos Rosier and I are going to experiment with improvisations.

"New Territories" is a quest, an investigation, exploring new areas, a journey of discovery in contact and connection.

This performance is part of a special project by Jos Rosier.

It is a great honor to be able to participate in this special project together with other artists.

Jos Rosier wrote a short story for this project about various feelings and emotions he hears around him, which also has to do with this covid time.

The story starts dark and ends in a more positive way.

When we all work together and stay alert, we can survive the whole thing, is his belief.

And then we can start (re)creating our future, giving ourselves new perspectives, goals, assignments.

Therefore Jos Rosier named the project: "Assignments for a new future".

Title of this performance is: Isolation Box

My own feelings around this uncertain time, reminds me a lot of my own exclusion/shunning from the Jehovah's Witnesses, but also of a violent and abusive time when you isolate yourself or get isolated.

You can participate if you comply with the rules.

Doom-mongering and making fearful, not allowed to criticize.

Excluding under the heading that you have your own choice, with all the consequences that entails.

Because of the dichotomy, people exclude each other because of their choice or way of thinking.

People who lose themselves, depression, violence/abuse at home or within institutions, which are now even less supervised.

Freedom to move within four walls.

Isolation, loneliness and feeling trapped are themes that come to mind at this time.

But the other side is the search for real connection with others and accepting who they are.

But also feeling the freedom again in your head, body and soul.

Expressing your feelings in art, writing, music, in dance and in movement.

I've tried to display that from dark to light.

Veronika Simonett en Fixuna met Inter-Action! Internationale Vrouwen Festival op 8 maart 2018 in de Lebuïnuskerk! (Deventer 1250 jaar)

Deze performance is in zijn geheel geimproviseerd.

Het gaat om de interactie tussen Veronika Simonett en mijzelf. Veronika gebruikt verschillende instrumenten, door de interactie kan er een mooi samenspel ontstaan.
